Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Authors should adhere to the following instructions while preparing their manuscripts:

Language: manuscripts should be written in English language (British English)

Manuscript length: the maximum length for each manuscript should not exceed 10,000 words.

Manuscript font style: manuscript should be written in times new roman.

Manuscript page layout: manuscripts should be prepared in A4 size documents.

Manuscript title: the title should be short, specific, and informative: type the title in all capital letters.

Authors’ names: names or contacts of the authors should NOT appear on the abstract page, nor anywhere on the main text.

Abstract: the title page of the manuscript should contain an abstract, which must not exceed 200 words.

JEL codes (on the same page as the abstract): authors should include at least one JEL code1 with manuscript during submission.

Keywords: authors should provide 4 to 6 keywords which will be used for indexing purposes. Keyword should appear on the same title page as the abstract.

Acknowledgments: collate acknowledgements in a separate section at the end of your article before the references.

Article structure: the manuscript should be organized into the following order: Abstract: Introduction: Theory: Material and Methods: Results and Discussions: Conclusions: Acknowledgements: References and Appendices.

 

References

References should be indented and should strictly observe the following format: Note: Use APA 7th Referencing Guide on how to reference other sources not listed here. 

Example of a journal citation:

Choudhry, M. T., Marelli, E., & Signorelli, M. (2012). Youth unemployment rate and impact of financial crises. International Journal of Manpower, 33(1), 76-95.

Example of book citations:

Hulme, D. and Murphree, M. 2001). African Wildlife and livelihoods: The promise and performance of Community Conservation. James Currey Ltd, Oxford. 336pp.

Example of Citing individual chapters in multi-authored books:

Carrick, D. and Johnson, M. (2010). The economic impacts of community participation in conservation of protected areas in developing countries. In: African Wildlife and Livelihoods: The Promise and Performance of Community Conservation. (Edited by Hulme, D. and Murphree, M.) James Currey Ltd, Oxford. pp. 59 – 73.

Example of conference or workshop citation:

Bubegwa, S. (2012). An overview of solid waste management in the city of Dar es Salaam. Paper Presented at the East Africa Solid Waste Management and Gas to Energy Best Practices Workshop, Mauritius, 10 – 13 September, 2012. 14pp.

Example of a monograph citation:

United States Agency for International Development (2010). The Economics of Sunflower Production in South America. Agriserve Ltd., New York, 80pp.

Citing from electronic sources:
